The Center for African Studies is pleased to announce the launch of the seminar program “The World seen from Africa: Multiple processes of decolonization”, led and presented by Prof. Ali Benmakhlouf, for the academic year 2023-2024.
Several courses are scheduled from October until May 2024. The first one is taking place this Tuesday, October 31st, focusing on the theme of “Decolonizing Historical Knowledge.”to talk about How can the archives of colonised countries be compiled? How can we avoid “the theft of history” (Jack Goody), which denies many peoples their humanity? How can we construct historical periods without presupposing domination?
