The geography of life and languages (or how to put space, and time, into boxes)
Bouziane Khalloufi , Mohammed VI Polytechnic University
March 26, 2026
UM6P Campus – Benguerir

The next seminar will be given on March 26 by Bouziane Khalloufi, paleontologist at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University to talk about The geography of life and languages (or how to put space, and time, into boxes).
His talk will explore concepts related to space and time when applied to biodiversity. Could we define a (bio)temporal period without a direct reference to time, and a (bio)geographic area without direct reference to space? Through case studies, including the evolution of the Green Sahara, this model is tested and extended to the evolution and distribution of languages.
