The Center for African Studies was pleased to welcome Mr.Bernard Coyault , Professor at Center for Afro-European and Religious Studies in Belgium, at UM6P Campus in Benguerir, to discuss the theme “Black Egypt, Afro-centric historiography and the African cultural renaissance: genealogy and future of an epistemic rupture.”

The seminar focused on Cheikh Anta Diop’s Nations nègres et culture (Black Nations and Culture), a project to rebuild an African historical consciousness with a view to a continent-wide cultural and political renaissance.
