
Conference in honor of Souleymane Bachir Diagne

A three-day conference will honor the distinguished career of Professor Souleymane Bachir Diagne, marking his retirement from the Departments of French and Philosophy at Columbia University, from April 3, 2025 to April 5, 2025.
Scholars and former students from Africa, Europe, and the U.S. will gather to share their insights into Professor Diagne’s profound influence on research, writing, and teaching.
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Ali Benmakhlouf, Director of the Center for African Studies (CAS) at UM6P, will be participating in the event. On April 5, he will present a talk titled: “Family, Commercial, and Spiritual Relations: Saint Louis and Fez.”
