On 19 and 20 October 2022, Mr. Ali Benmakhlouf took part in the inaugural conference of CARES (Centre for Afro-European and Religious Studies/ Faculté Universitaire de Théologie Protestante de Bruxelles), which raised major questions for the future of Protestantism in Europe under the theme: Afropeanity And the Conditions of Women.

The conference examined the circumstances of its emergence, development and reception in different contexts, as well as the specific ways in which women of African origin who were born or raised in Europe participate in the construction and deployment of the Afro-European imaginary.
